Beacon-friendly Snack Ideas
When it comes to snacking, having the same old protein bar can get pretty boring.
Here are a few fun ideas to switch up your snack options!
When choosing a snack it’s important to ensure your snack includes a protein. Having a protein at snack increases satiety (the feeling of fullness) and can help curb cravings for sugar and processed foods.
1. Apple with sugar-free nut peanut butter or almond butter
Smear 2 tablespoons of sugar-free nut butter on sliced apple pieces.
2. Vegetables (carrot sticks or peppers) with hummus
Dip 1 cup of carrot sticks or diced peppers into 2 tbsp of hummus.
3. Cottage cheese with raspberries
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of raspberries into 1 cup of cottage cheese.
4. Edamame (unsalted)
One cup of edamame is a great source of protein and fibre.
5. Greek yogurt with cinnamon and sliced apples
Slice up an apple and mix in with 1 cup of greek yogurt. Sprinkle cinnamon on top!
