Kirsten Collins, LCSW

Clinical Director

“Kirsten has a real understanding of people - especially people who struggle with food issues. There is nothing I can’t talk about with her. I am so lucky to have her as the lead support in my journey at Beacon.” —BP

Kirsten brings with her a combination of humor and lightheartedness AND the courage to challenge you, not shying away from deeply transformational work in treatment.  Kirsten is wholeheartedly committed to working with you to create, in the words of DBT, a “life worth living.”

Kirsten has a Master’s Degree from Columbia, where she completed the intensive DBT track. She also received an MBA from Southern Connecticut University.  At Columbia, Kirsten fell head-over-heels in love with DBT and its incredible integration of mindfulness practice into therapy. DBT is Kirsten’s calling in part because she is also trained as a Forrest Yoga Instructor – a style of yoga that emphasizes connecting to feelings in order to work through physical and emotional trauma. Kirsten has also completed Level I of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training.

Kirsten is incredibly committed to whole health – physical, emotional and spiritual – and avidly subscribes to Beacon’s philosophies on food addiction. Kirsten walks the road to recovery with you and is passionate about her work.  Since the day Kirsten met Molly, she has called Beacon a “healing oasis.” Kirsten is honored to be a part of this incredible team.
