Laurel brings an empathetic and compassionate approach to her work at Beacon. She has extensive experience in the field of addiction, having worked with individuals with substance use disorders, histories of trauma and severe mental health issues. Laurel is deeply passionate about helping people gain deeper insight into themselves, overcome their challenges, and find their very best selves. Drawing upon an eclectic approach to her work, Laurel loves Beacon’s focus on a DBT model and wholeheartedly believes in the value of integrating mindfulness practice into the therapeutic and coaching process.

Laurel has a Masters Degree of Social Work from York University in Toronto, Canada. She has received advanced education through the completion of the Integrative Trauma Certificate Program from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies and a Postgraduate Certificate in Harm Reduction from York University.

Laurel is thrilled to be a part of The Beacon team. She loves the welcoming environment and the program’s commitment to offering sustainable solutions to individuals struggling with diet culture, food addictions and eating disorders.
